I had this same problem, but mine ws caused by a mechanic not tightening the clamps. There are two lines right there at the firewall. One for each bank. Did you check both of them? Seems to me that if the clamps are not the issue, you must have a split in the hose, either the metal part or the rubber. Odd that the hose would have been replaced... any recent work done in that area?


I took the hat off the engine and I have fuel spraying from a line (hose/line junction) right at the firewall. I wonder if the check valve in the fuel pump has failed closed, causing fuel pressure to rise.

The hose looks new and the clamp is tite enough. Filters and stuff are new. Any other ideas? Is there a way to visually identify which of the 2 lines is on the return side of the 2 hoses?

Hey, I'm smelling fuel odor in the cockpit, and outside the car after shutdown. Is the fuel return check valve a likely place to start looking for the problem? I'll take the hat off the engine tomorrow and have a look at the fuel rail. Any other ideas ?
