Michelin pilot defect (archive)

Anyone else know of defects with the sidewalls on Michelin Pilot V rated tires? I have the 225 VR 15s on my car and have recently noticed a bubble in the sidewall on the passenger's side front tire (LH drive car). The bubble is on the outside. My first call to Michelin produced the "this must be a driver induced problem" response. Curious if anyone has seen/heard about sidewall separation being an issue with these tires. BTW - mine were new in Nov 99 and have about 12K miles on them.
