Click on this site and take a read. Especially "E & M numbers"and "models explained" , E28, E34, E39, E23, and E32 You should be able to find exactly what you are looking for. Once you read this site (it's UK based but he explains and breaks down info very well for both sides of the pond) you will have plenty of knowledge like hp,torque, engine type, brakes, non US model info, etc.

Since you asked, I can only state the obvious answer... the major difference between the 535 and 735 is size. This is inclusive of the E28 vs E23, E34 vs E32 and the E39. These all had an inline 6 cyl engine available...but the 7 came with more "standard" equipment since it is the flagship model and offered more interior space. Happy hunting (and reading)

Ok, still searching for a nice car. What are the differences between the 535 and 735? Also, I have seen 530i's (v8), are they good too?
