Marty, are you a member of BMW CCA? They have ombudsmans...maybe they can round up someone at BMW to hear your plea. Have you tried to contact your BMW regional manager etc. I would try to contact someone in the BMW organizational hierchy before having to come up with funds out of your pocket. But it seems like you might have to sue somebody!! Good luck and keep us informed .

Q-thank you for the post been there done that,my problem is a bit more complex...i bought a 540 a few months back, i called bmwna to talk about the nikasil, they told me that if the car had been serviced at bmw and was found to have the problem bmw would take care of it,even if it was out of warranty. They also said to have a bmw dealer inspect the car before i bought it, i was buying the car out of state so i hired a dealer to do this for me, i told them my big concern was the motor. They called me and told me that it had the allusil motor, i jumped on a plane to go buy the car, when i got there the car had a shakes so i asked the dealer to preform the leak test, they told me they did not have time to do it and what ever the problem was it was not related to the nikasil problem, they showed me a report from bmw that said my block was an allusil motor so i figured what ever the problem was i could fix it. I went home and did every thing i could but i still had the shakes. So i took the car to my bmw dealer for leak test, it failed 30-40% per cylinder.
I then called the dealer and was told the bmw report was wrong and that i should call bmwna as it was their fault and not the dealer's . BMWNA told me it was the dealer fault, so at this point they (dealer /BMWNA) won't do shit, now BMWNA will not return my calls. Looks like I have no choice but to start legal action....m
