Remove Leather Selector Handle.
Remove PRND21 Strip
Remove 2 screws $ Selector bezel
Lift wood trim
To the right of the selector shaft there will be an electrical unit which has a slide piece which is moved by a pin on the selector shaft. The black ones are known to cause eratic transmission behavior. My transmission exhibited symptoms of eratic first to second shift. I replaced the unit with the white one ( the dealer doesn't know any difference, the white ones haven't been made for the last 12 years ). The eratic shift hasn't happened since.
