Jim -

Just got my 740i back, similar situation. I tried epoxy (rather the radiator shop did), it worked for oh, I'd say 42 miles, then the whole thing blew apart. Someone else posted that they had success (25k miles and still going) with the epoxy fix. I would say the success of an epoxy fix depends on the status of the radiator itself. If relatively new, and the plastic is in good shape, probably a good starting point before a whole radiator job. If older and plastic is starting to break down, then no amount of epoxy will help. The engine compartment is a pretty hostile place for plastic in my opinion as for all of the heat generated (more so than other cars I have had).

Link posted to my story, more entertainment value than anything...

Not sure where the shop got my new rad, "IRC" in california I think, $189 and change. I also had the hoses, thermostat and serpentine belt done since it was apart (the water pump will be next I suppose now).

Hello,

The plastic end cap (piece where the upper radiator hose attaches) has a small crack on the top of the end cap.

Under pressure, it is a very very small crack with very little antifreeze seeping out.

Has anyone every used any bonding material or high temp glue to seal off a leak in the plastic end caps.

Also, any suggestion for a place to buy a radiator.
Thank you all for the help.

Jim
