I have a 94 740i, and the Bentley manual. I opened it to find out where these relays are, and guess what? Mine are not where the Bentley says. The Bentley says they are in the Electronics Box. Under that black cover in the rear right of the engine compartment. My manual has a picture. In the picture, most forward is one of those massive connectors, I think that is the DME. In the rear of the box are 2 more of these huge connectors. I assume one is the tranny controller, and I don't know what the other one is. Now, behind the main dme connector, and in front of the 2 rear ones, it pictures 2 relays, side by side, on the outer side of the box. One is the fuel pump relay and the other one is the main dme relay.

Like I said, my car looks markedly different under that cover. Mine has 2 of the big connectors in the front, one in the back, and in between these is a big black plastic rack with about 4 or 5 harness connectors on the top, and 3 or 4 relays below them. A nut must be removed from each end of the rack, then the whole rack can be lifted slightly and you can access the relays below. Of course, I don't know if those are the correct relays, since it is different from the manual.
