Carb spray has a lubricant that is supposed to lubricate the linkages on carburetors. It may damage sensitive sensors on cars that are Fuel Injected.
My .02 worth

I've had some work done on my ECU by Programma. My car idles at around 1100 RPMs when warm and out of gear (no A/C). I was wondering what other's 735i's idle at out of gear? 1100 when warm seems a little high, but I was wondering if everyone elses idles at this level? I would prefer to see the idle around 900-950 out of gear.

Clean whole assembly with carburator cleaner from air filter box to intake manifolds. Also pay attention to idle control valve.
Check for possible vacuum leaks (cracked hose).
Replace fuel filter, spark plugs and air filter.

My car idled at 900-1000 rpm when I bought it, now at 650-700.
