I did my plugs this weekend with the single electrode v notch plugs I mentioned above. Can't say there was any 'radical' change. I paid $2.50 each for the plugs I bought on the net. However, interestingly, the plugs I took out, NGK BKR6EK, which I can not find any longer, are a two electrode type. Seems there was a 2 electrode type as well as the 4 electrode type that NGK is calling the "power plug" today. Evolution may have killed the 2 electrode version. I had these plugs put in when I purchased the car 6 years ago. They still seemed fine by appearance, but I figured 60K miles was time for a change.

I was quoted over $300 for 12 pieces of NGK BKR6EQUP. Needless to say I replied "thank U but no thank U". I thought I might try Nippondenso which also has these "V" shaped electrodes. I'm still running on plugs that have likely been in the car since Belgium so it's about time to change.

$300 my arse
