Some f***ing a**hole apparently decided it was in order to key my ENTIRE car last night...the only undamaged panel is the roof. Anyone know what to look for in a paint job? My insurance adjuster came today and estimated about $2000...this sounds low to me, but I have no idea. Anyone have any experience with this? I want something that looks like the factory job...the car previously had not a scratch on it.

I had my SUV (not a BMW) here in California repainted a couple years ago due to clear coat going bad. Estimates ranged from $1100 to $4000.
I ended up having it done for $1600. When the car is repainted they have to strip off all the old paint, so it's a big job. The paint is very good, but I had trouble with the paint shop getting all the exterior hardware back on right, and I think sitting in the paint shop a while maybe causes deterioration of foam in the headliner and speakers, from the solvents in the air- I had to redo headliner and replace speakers soon afterwards.
