Mine buffed all the Galvaniser off my front wings, Rust appeared three months later, and I was told that...

A/ The Car was an old vehicle (88)and rust was to be expected on an old car!!

B/ Where does it say the car has a Galvanised Shell? only the doors and sills were galvanised, Despite it Saying in the Original Sales Brochure that the car was "Fully Galvanised"!

C/ That this was all part of the repair procedure and I'd just have to accept it, Runs and all!!

Needless to say I didn't accept it, Went to Trading Standards, Solicitor, Cancelled my insurance Policy until further notice, Insurance Ombudsman....

I Won!!!!

For them to do it right you are looking closer to 3000.00+ Get your own estimates from quality painters. Yes you can get a 2000.00 paint job, you can also get one for 189.00 but neither will look like a factory paint job. Take it to a GOOD BMW dealer and other quality shops and tell them you want factory quality, strip the old off and base/clear. Good Luck

Some f***ing a**hole apparently decided it was in order to key my ENTIRE car last night...the only undamaged panel is the roof. Anyone know what to look for in a paint job? My insurance adjuster came today and estimated about $2000...this sounds low to me, but I have no idea. Anyone have any experience with this? I want something that looks like the factory job...the car previously had not a scratch on it.
