Clunking Sound When Braking (archive)

Hello All,

I've got an 88 735i 5-speed, 150k miles. When I apply the brakes quickly, I get a clunking sound from what seems like somewhere in the front suspension. Just one clunk when I apply the brakes, and then it's OK. It doesn't happen under normal brake application, just when I hit them hard.

Any idea what's going on here? Could it be the same thing as 2 posts back - sway bar links that are shot?

Thanks in advance,
Troy
