These two guys are the transmission experts and I am sure they will gladly give you some advice to go on. Here is their e-mail addresses.

Jeff Marsh --> jeffmarsh750@msn.com

'88 750iL

Driving 1992 750il with 157k miles. Recently, transmission feels like is disengaging when I take my foot off the gas, tach revs drop down to idle. One 2-3 occasions, tranny did not immediately shift into reverse from cold start. After short wait, worked fine. Feels like tranny is not shifting into overdrive and sometimes shift between early gears is rough. I get a hiccup on occasion in the lower gears. There are time when everything works fine. Tranny fluid has not been changed in a while, but I am scheduled for a change and flush tomorrow. Does anyone out there have any ideas. Computer readings check out ok. Dealers says I need a new transmission.

Flush was done today. My mechanic says car will not move in reverse. Says I need a transmission. I would like to understand what else should be checked before I move toward a new tranny. What else should be investigated?
