Bob - You probably should isolate each wire with a diode. I used 1N5401 3A 100 V Rectifiers.
(5/$1.00 at Radio Shack) Might not need them but
it is a little additional protection of the electronics. Looks like you are going to disconnect completely from the IHKA when you switch your valves over to provide 12 V to them.



I just bought a 4PDT relay and minature switch from Radio Shack that I am installing to do exactly what you did (I am switching both valves in the OFF/Overide position). I am mounting the switch in the speaker fader spot, as mine is no longer used with the upgraded radio/speaker system in my car.

Unless my new valves are bypassing this HAS to stop the heat!
