sticky chime which stops singing at low temperatur (archive)

Hi all,

I forgot to say that when I was in the US with the car, the chime was singing all right when it was (body-wise) reasonably warm. In fact the chime was sometimes very scratchy as if it had a sore throat.

However at very low temperature the chime will not sound whatsoever...


Any ideas?
