My 750iL 1988 suddenly lost power. When I depressed a throttle pedal it didn't help. After a few seconds the sign EML on the panel switched on. I don't have the "Bentley" yet, so where should I look for mistakes? On the official BMW service they used an anticorosive spray on contacts of the EMLs, and their tester replied that there were several short contacts with ground on "Lambdas". I disconnected both, but the problem stayed the same. The BMW servicer recommended to find the same car and try changing EMLs, because they didn't have them on stock. In my neighbourhood is, of course, plenty of such cars. Thank You for Your answers! Best regards, Iztok.

On my 1988 750, the cause was a bad voltage regultor in the alternator.
These machines are very sensitive to voltage fluctuations, I would get a check on the charging system.
