A failing or marginal battery can also cause weird warning signals on the check control. Remove the back seat and check the battery condition.

My 1988 735i check control display went haywire this morning . I saw numerous false signals displayed first door open then hood, then trunk, ASC defective, water separator, trans level, catalyst . This all happened in rapid succession with all the annoying bells. I just pushed the display button and none of the messages are retreived. What is ASC? Thanks Mike
