Weird radio glitch and question about cup holders (archive)

This is on a 1990 735il:

1. My radio/CD can be heard playing softly even when it is turned off, as long as the car is running. Is this a common glitch with this car? It doesn't bother me that much but I wonder if it's burning down my battery.

2. Not having a drink holder is making me *insane*. I have to have my cappuccino in the AM and I'm afraid I've already launched one all over the passenger floor mat. Can somebody recommend a link to buy a drink holder that would mount on the flat area of the console (not on the door,that drives me nuts too) and not look too cheap/fugly?
