Hi all,

I've asked this before, but did not get the range of answers I had hoped for.

Using the enhanced function "test 3" on OBC when car is idling I get 2.5 - 2.7 litres an hour consumption in idle. If in drive, it goes up to 3.1, and with aircon, it is 3.8. This is more thirsty than my friends 5 litre modified v8.

The reason I am asking is that my 7 does 11 mpg around town no matter how gently I drive and it is driving me nuts. It runs normally, no bad idle, revs out to redline no probs and is smooth in between.
On a trip, it used to do 28 mpg at steady 80mph (130km/h), but now does 21-23 at steady 60 mph (100 km/h).

Have cleaned out airflow meter, checked correct voltages at
airflow meter, idle cotrol valve, temp sensor, run injector cleaner through, replaced plugs, rotor and dizi cap, adjusted valves, flushed fluid in Tranny and new oil in diff.

One thing I did find is that if I introduce a vaccuum leak ( by pulling the dipstick), the litres per hour drops to 2.4 litres per hour with no acceroies and in neutral, but idle becomes rough.

Any thoughts?
