The 733 was in a e23 type. It used the Jetronic fuel injection system instead of the newer Motronic.

other diferences:
The oil system:
on the older engine the housing points downwards, on the newer upwards, I believe they also have differnt oilpumps.
the distributor cap on the 735 is in the front on the 733 it's on the side.

You can probaly use this block providing you use your motronic fuel system the older oilpump/oilfilterhousing and distributor.

When I was looking for a replacement block for my 87 e32 I droped by a company that restores old bmw
's and he claimed I could use that engine provided I use my own enginemounts/injection system.

I hope this is usefull information and good luck!

If the engine as a whole is not suitable perhaps the block or other parts are....maybe another board member can shed some light. I would use the BUY IT NOW option on Ebay to purchase IF this engine meets your needs. If someone who knows these engines can contact this seller maybe an educated determination can be made.

Don't know if this can help but it was just listed. The price looks pretty reasonable.
