Patience and a manual on "Yoga: mastering the art of contorsionism"...

Seriously though, you'll want a 3/8" drive socket and a variety of extensions and 2 swivel adapters. The passenger's side is the easiest... do that first. You will want to cover the fenders with a soft cloth as you will be leaning on them a lot. Take out the window washer fluid tank and you get pretty easy access. Be careful removing the boots on the plugs. Make sure you grab them (not the wire) and use a twisting and slight rocking action to break the seal around the plug. If the plugs were done correctly the last time, there should have been some dialectric grease installed on the inside of the boot to facilitate removal... if not, be patient or you'll end up having to buy/make new wires too. The hardest plugs are the two next to the firewall on the driver's side. You have to come at them from the front, horizontally, alongside the engine at the plug level. You'll have many choice words for the BMW engineers and thank whoever you give thanks to that you only have to do this rotten job once every 60 - 80K miles. Plan on a Saturday afternoon to do the complete job if it is your first time... pros take 1.5 - 2 hours. Have fun!

Kevin

Does anyone have any tips on changing the spark plugs on these cars? The Bentley book does not explain as well as other topics. I also checked the archives and one message helped, but other feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
