Bypass the fader. I used my preamp outputs (higher voltage) to drive the 4 lines that go from the fader to the amp. On my car, only used the (+) outputs, and taped out the (-) outputs so they don't short anything. THEY AREN'T GROUND!

Now your stereo outs, including fader controls go right to the factory amp, which has crossovers, etc., to drive factory speakers.

Search the archives, there have been some more detailed instructions, including wire colors, etc.

I ordered a Clarion dxz715 cd player for my 88' 735il. I was just wondering how i would have the front and rear fader hook up to the new CD player. Should I just have it be a dead switch and have the cd player control the fader or should i keep the fader switch still operating and have the control on the cd player not work. I know many of you have probably installed cd players into your 7 series how did you do it? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

Nick
