You are using the correct procedure for the passenger door ...insert key, hold up on door handle, and turn key clockewise PAST resistance...some people have used a pair of pliers for leverage...get your S.O. or a buddy to help if you are having difficulty executing the procedure. Since your car was mfg before 7/90, you can perform this procedure on your drivers side door. The only difference is that you reverse the direction to unlock the door to COUNTER CLOCKWISE. Don't give up...it will work! Senior members on the board will testify to hearing just about everyone who has been in your situation make the same claim..." I tried it but it won't turn far enough"...eat some WHEATIES, Mikey... and turn that sucker until the lock pops up!
