Depending on your year / model, this technique may apply to driver OR passenger front door.

Turn the key to the extreme clockwise position while lifting the door handle. You will feel some resistence - but the force should not be at the level you fear breaking the key!!!

With Key held in that extreme clockwise position, release door handle and then lift the door handle one more time. The door should open.

Had this happen on interstate 95 just a couple of weeks ago and I'm SERIOUSLY considering wiring a heavy lead from the battery under the seat to the trunk - since I could open the trunk but there wasn't any wiring there heavy enough that would withstand the amperage necessary to bring power to the system and allow the doors to unlock.

Good Luck!!

Lou

You should carefully turn the key past the resistance. You are manually unlocking the door, so the key is actually moving the rod rather than having an electric actuator do it.
