Take your car to a reputable Independent BMW Service facility and ask them to put it on the lift and diagnose/quote any susp. issues. You have a worn bushing/s and or ball joints. Or possibly worn tie rod ball joints. I wouldn't suggest tackling the struts on the E32 body unless you have a professional strut spring compressor. But if you insist you at least need to purchase the Bentley E32 Service Manual. This will walk you through the steps. FYI-The bearings in the Front Upper strut mount can be seen, they are not damaged but replace them to be sure when you do your struts. They are fairly pricey at $132.00 retail. You should be able to do better than this with an aftermarket parts house (BAS, BMP, or call me if not.
