the answer is no set rpm that each gear will shift out of..without alot of detail..suffice
to say the transmission is electronically controlled and the algorithm that determines shift
points would stump Bill Gates..many factors determine when a trans shifts..RPM is just one
factor...throttle position, load and even engine
temperature..(trans will shift at higher RPM when
it is cold) influence when the transmission shifts. Also, if you shift into S or sport mode
you will notice the transmission will hang onto
each gear longer..this is sportier because it keeps the engine in its power band (higher rpm)
longer for more aggressive acceleration/throttle
response.
Hope this helps,
George

I probably won't word this right but hopefully you will understand.

As the tranny (auto) shifts thru the gears, does it shift @ a certain rpm? and does each gear have to hit a specific rpm before it goes into a higher one? if so what would that be?
