Hi! Intake leaks! Usual cause of this problem. They show up when it's colder because stuff shrinks and lets more air in. Check your air boot connections between the manifold and your air sensor. Spray a little carb cleaner around gasket areas and listen for your engine to speed up as the rich stuff is sucked in. I had a loose air boot and also a small leak at the throttle body gasket. The air boot is now tight, the gasket repair is waiting for some warmer weather.

The O2 sensor code is simply telling you that your air mix is wrong. Since your problem started when it got cold, it's probably not your sensors. They're easy enough to replace, but it's a $300 expense even if you do it yourself - it'd be a shame if you did that and still had the problem. I had to learn that the hard way.

my 1994 740il idles rough when it's cold and sometimes dies at a stop. someone on the board suggested i get run rite done. i did and do notice a significant improvement, but the problem is still there. i am thinking of replacing the o2 sensors next since the code leads me to that, but am wondering if anyone has any other input
