Possibility of a blocked Breather perhaps? This would not allow the tank to vent, causing it to pressurise.

Regards
Dave M
Just purchased a 89 750il with 109K. After filling the fuel tank and driving a short distance home, gas was leaking out of the filler neck overflow. This continued for about 20 mins--I didn't over fill the tank as one would expect. Any ideas on what is causing problem, First BMW, got alot to learn, Thank You, Jim L

Where is the breather for the fuel tank located/and does anyone know procedure to fix or replace, Thanks Jim L
