he is the transmission expert on the board. What
you describe is unfortunate..if you really want
to dig in, you will need to find out precisely
what your shop did to R&R your trans..for example..if the valve body was changed that could
change shifting characteristics..if clutch packs
were changed..gear engagement may be a bit different...also if the trans computer was replaced..the software may be slightly different. Feel is subjective and hard
to prove a case on but I have no doubt it does
feel different. If you want slightly smoother
shifting you can change the trans fluid to synthetic. Anyway..depends what length you want
to go to restore original feel...valve body,
computer and fluid can be changed without pulling
the trans...holding on to a gear longer than before..as in sport mode for example..discussed earlier suggests to me either a software (computer) change or valve body change.
Drive the car in sport mode and report if the trans shifts any different than in E (economy)
mode...there should be a clear difference.
Good Luck,

recent tranny rebuild, hubby picked the mech shop, and it shifts fine, like new but just not like it did. I know i cannot trust the shop that did it and it is running fine just not a smooth and sharp as it was before. My mech checked it and says there isnt anything he could complain about, and i trust his word.
There isnt any set ratios for the tranny then i guess no way to know why it dosnt 'feel' right. It just feels like the ford aerostar-(garaged my baby 'till winter is gone)
Thanks,
Roxxy
