Mark,

Happy New Year to you too. I am in the process of replacing that hose and wrote something onto this board in
http://www.bimmer.org/e32/messages/archive/msgsy2001w51/41611.html
Bought the hose from Zygmunt for ~$24 and got it the next day. Great service (no affiliation to Zygmunt, etc.). I don't think a 735i will have the same problem I am encountering. You need to replace the two aluminum washers, also. I removed the brake reservior and alternator as part of a bigger project so I manage to gain some room on the left side of the engine. Still I found I needed a foot-long extension bar coupled to a torque wrench and a 22mm socket to torque the hollow bolt accurately.

If you can get the old design of the return hose from somewhere else please let me know.

It appears the hose from the gearbox to the hard tubing is leaking somewhere. Fluid is collecting in the cavities on the engine mount bracket and there is fluid all over the gearbox. It doesn't look too difficult to replace and access to the gearbox connection may the biggest challenge. Has anyone replaced this hose?

Happy New Year,
Mark Dorr
