About the seat cables yeah now that i think about it the selt beat adjustment doesn't work on the passenger seat (so now i know how they work!)
Well the seat does have a switch on it, but underneath there is a blue plug with nothing plugged into it and what appears to be nothing to plug it into. Now that i know how to get a better look under the seat ill try and look, but i welcome any other ideas you have
thanks
david

1.) If seat is original and has a switch, it was equipped (DOH!) Seat heaters usually fail in the switch (try swapping with driver's side) or in the seat. If the actual seat coils have failed, it's $$$ and/or hard to fix.
2.) Not supposed to have e-box under seat like driver's.
3.) If all other power seat functions work, I suspect the cable(s) are for the automatic seatbelt anchor point adjuster. Look at the driver's seat, when you move it forward and back does the B-pillar anchor point move up and down? (it should). Does the passenger side anchor move when the passenger seat is moved? I posted a short blurb a while ago on how I repaired mine... didn't take too long, about 1/2 hour.

Good luck

I when trying to figure out why my passenger seat heater doesn't work i noticed there is a blue plug with nothing connected to it.. did my 1989 735i not come with a seat heater on the passenger side??? also when comparing it to the drivers seat i noticed that the passenger seat didn't have a large box under the seat like the drivers did. Also i noticed two cables that were loose and freely floating around under my passenger's seat. i see the way they are hooked up under the drivers seat, but my passengers seat seems to work fine besides the heating part.... any suggestions on what to do with these two loose cables one is in the front and one in the back, but both on the right side of the seat
thanks
david
