I'll be using a pair of 12" MTX Thunder 8000s, probably hooked up to a PPI A1200. I already have these items. If cutting the ski hole out, and only turning the speakers around provides the best bass, then does it matter what type of enclosure I used? Seems that a Sealed enclosure will work for that type of application. Also, how much clearance do you think there should be between the ski hole and the back of the enclosure?

I have two Polk Audio 12's in a Q-Logic Banpass box. I'm running 400 watts to each sub. A word of advice, (I work for car stereo at Circuit City) cut out the ski hole but point the subs away from it. That will give you the best bass. Also, as far as sealed vs. bandpass, it depends on what subs you are using. Certain subs sound better in bandpass others sound better in sealed. Let me know if I can help anymore
