Others have stated they've also found the instrument cluster plugs can go intermittent-connection...? Perhaps you could try re-seating the plugs in the unit? Wiggling while the ignition is on?

I was so proud of myself. Ripped open the dash and did the capacitor fix. All 5. Got it all back together and nothing. No fuel gauge, temp gauge, odometer, etc. Any suggestions before I cave and go to the dealer?
