Paul,
based upon what I've read so far..considering
you have replaced most of the key elements
comprising the cooling system, I would take a
good look at your viscous fan..even though you
replaced it..these are known to be defective..
even if purchased new. My friend Bruno on the
E-34 board in a fit of exasperation, yanked his
viscous fan out completely after replacing one
or two and replaced with a new electric fan..
which works great. Make sure you adequately
diagnose your fan..these can be finickey. After
that..it could be..not assured..but could be a
bad head gasket. There are many techniques for
assessing this. Check out Bruno's website for
the best diagnostic advice. Initially look for
coolant reservoir over pressurization..telltale
that combustion gases are co-mingling with your
coolant. Have a look in your coolant reservoir
to see if there is any appearance of oil. Purchase some diagnostic strips at a local auto
parts store and test your coolant for oil content. Have a look at your exhaust pipe to see
if there is unusual water emission..smell and/or
taste it..coolant is sweet in taste. Lastly you can perform a leakdown test to deduce if your head
gasket is not up to the job. Well that's a
shopping list to be sure. Good luck..you will
resolve this frustrating issue...many have been
down the same path..again give Alex a shout for
further perspective.

YES I did bleed the coolant many times but once the engine starts to move to the hot zone and i unscrew the bleed nut only hot steam starts to come out and i have to shut the car off and let it cool down.
