Tim the knob you mentioned is the front and rear knob, there is two set of wires that lead to this knob, those are the wires you want to connect your speaker wires to, i'm not sure but they should be blue and yellow. You will have to use one front and one rear speaker wire from the cd player left or right is up to you, make sure you cap the other two.
