the reason is quite simple: as someone mentioned, our cars are now of the age that many of us have had to do extensive repairs. And since our cars have matured to a lower price group, they are often bought by people who couldn't possibly afford to buy an e38 or to repair a car at stealer's.

Very soon the oldest e38's will mature to the 10+ years category and the philosophical bimmer drivers will have bought e65 so we'll see a new generation of e38 drivers and a dramatic change in the e38 board messages.

Who knows, some of us might end up there in a few years. If we can bear the thought of parting with the cars we've worked so hard on...
