Eventually, the plug will have to come out. Whether you take it out or someone else does not aleviate the possiblity of shavings dropping down into the cylinder. I think that if I had a known good head, I would change it out instead of trying to put a bandaid on the bad one.

Putting a heli coil in the socket with the head on also leads to possible shavings dropping down into the cylinder and further chance of damage to the engine.

It is a good idea whenever installing anything into high temp aluminum to use an anti seize lubricant so you don't wind up with the problem that you have now.
