There are two methods to unlock the phone. The easiest is if you know the lock code (duh!). Usually the code is the last three or four digits of the phones last programmed phone number. Unfortunately, the phone companies will NOT give this information to anyone other than the original subscriber of the service.

The second method is to short two sets of pins on the data cable and then turn the phone on and the lock code will then be 0000. I forget which pins are to be shorted, but Audiovox's help desk will give the information out. I believe Audiovox can be reached at 800/229-1235.

Shorting the pins is not easy. I backprobed the connector with strait pins and aligator clips, etc. Good luck.


I have a locked phone in my '89 750iL. How does we go about unlocking it? I have disconnected it but still locked. Any suggestions?
