My brakes were not as grabby when I switched to the Axxis pads. However, they still cause the ABS to trip on a hard brake so my sense is that the feeling of less braking effectiveness is more subjective than real and that by no grabbing like my old pads, I can brake a more controlled manner. I've got 2 years of hard driving on them now and am very happy.

on my car they seemed to lower braking effectiveness somewhat(as well as dust of course).

Does anyone know a not too expensive set of brake pads that cut down on the brake dust? 89 750i. Thanks.

Lee; I use AXXIS Metal Masters on my 1988 750 and they do a great job. Also, Raybestos makes good pads and they are not pricey.
