A-clutch pack has had it. Less probable would be
a plugged valve body do to a recent trans service..yes either flushing/not recommended or trans fluid replacement on a higher mileage trans "that hadn't been changed" can liberate contaminants due to higher detergent of fresh fluid and plug your V/B.
Good Luck,
George
90 735il/145kI have an 88 735 iL and it has developed some major transmission problem. I was leaving an intersection when I felt it beginning to slip, it gradually worsened until I could not get any forward motion from the car. I had to drive home in reverse. Fluid smells burnt, but not too burnt, and it has been changed recently. Any good suggestions regarding a diagnosis and then the consequent repair would be appreciated. Thanks, Chris
