How to buy a Good BMW??? (archive)

Hi,
I am from Malaysia. I am looking around for a BMW 7 Series 728i or 730i and saw a 730i 1988/91 Model so i think it should be under E32 model. The price is about RM35K.

I am not a BMW user and do not know which model i should buy for 7 Series the E23 or E32??? If the E23 it will be cost around RM15k to 20k. So far i know that E23 model parts is getting hard to find in Malaysia. Anyway i am very sure i may get from other country like the US,UK,or maybe German.

I do not know how to see or check how good is the conditions of the BMWs???? Can someone please let me know how to determine to buy or not to buy a 2nd BMW???
