Roxxy went thru he|| recently with a 3rd party extended warrantee for a headgasket replacement & corroded block deck surface. The warrantee company claimed "pre-existing condition" & "neglect" & weaseled out of it & she ended up having to pay out-of-pocket for a used motor & installation. The insurance company rep was pretty slick in all the ins & outs of dodging claims. I know comprehensive extended warrantee coverages cost upwards of $1500 so try to find someone who has actually had good 1st-hand experience collecting on a claim with that specific underwriter, or speak with several repair shops about their experience with that underwriter. Personally I would take my chances without the warrantee & bank that money for a rainy day & use it for a yet to be determined future repair.

If you do purchase a warrantee, see if the seller will cover the cost of a pre-purchase inpection & document the present condition of the car to have in your back pocket if you do need to turn a claim in on it. Otherwise if you're intent on getting that car, pay for the inspection yourself. They run about $150 +/- & even if the inspection reveals expensive needed repairs & the deal falls thru, consider it an investment in the car you will ultimately end up with, even if you have to go thru the process several times.

just my $.02

I'm looking at a 94 750IL with 70K miles. I am looking at a 2 or 3 year extended warranty for it. Would the common electrical & accessory problems be covered?

I read the warranty and it seems like they would, but I wonder if there are loop holes I am missing.

Thanks a lot!
