Tools you will need
1. 17 mm Crow’s foot
2. 3/8” socket drive
3. Extensions for the drive total 18 “
4. 13 mm socket
5. 10 mm socket
6. Drain pan to catch the fluid
7. 1 liter of 7.1 or 11 (as labeled for your car)
Preoperative procedures/ precautions
1. Start this job in the morning or when the car is cold.
2. Do not need to jack up the car, although ramps make things easier.
3. With the car off pump the brake pedal about 20 times. Remember from math class 15 is not 20. J
Removal of things
UNDER THE CAR
1. Remove the fog light, this will just push out from behind, undo the connector set aside.
2. Remove the duct grill, it is just pulls out.
3. Remove the duct behind, it is held secured with 3 10mm plastic nuts.
4. Now you can see the bomb, tempting, as it is to undo the two nuts resist, oh well go ahead just loosen them.
5. Now get off your back, if you were falling a sleep this is a good time for coffee.J
Removal of things
UNDER THE HOOD
1. Remove the air filter box top and bottom sections; this will give you more room.
2. Look down now you should be able to see the bomb from the top, and also the nut, this is why you need the crow’s foot.
3. Put the drain pan in front of the wheel.
4. Use the crow’s foot and the drive extensions and undo the nut, this is a compression fitting and you should be able to just spin the nut out with your fingertips.
5. Go back under the car undo the two mounting nuts the bomb will just drop.
6. Save the rubber bushings install on the new bomb and reinstall everything in the reverse order.
7. You do not need to prime the unit in anyway just add the fluid a per instructions
8. You will notice a big difference. Drive around for a while and recheck the fluid level.
