I might as well join the ranks of Paul. My alternator finally gave up the ghost on Friday.

In fact, it has probably been bad for a while, as my battery was getting less and less juice, and thus GIVING less and less juice on startup.

The weird thing is the regulator died in such a way that it prevented the BATTERY WARNING LIGHT from lighting up. Since this was an internally regulated Bosch, I replaced the whole thing (the brushes were probably really worn anyhow).

It was a 115 amp and I replaced it with a 140 amp. Yes they cost more, but since my 7 is fully loaded, I think the 115 amp was NOT the original.

Nice thing is since I've replaced it, everything is much brighter, and the problem with the heater blower has gone away (I guess it wasn't the sword after all).
