I take it that you mean PCV valve. Which stands for positive crankshaft ventilation valve. It allows the crankcase pressure and gasses generated by the combustion process to be ventilated back into the engine helping to keep the environment clean. My friend had a reported fault of “trans programme” on the dot matrix. It would show most often after going down a long hill. The rubber diaphragm in this valve had a large split around the edge. Changing the valve cured his reported error in the display. You need to remove it and look/ test. Over here in the UK they are about £25 to buy from the dealer (I call them dealer not stealer as this price is not bad) as for the 740.

Kind regards.

What does the PVC really do? Can it cause the tranny to act up? How can you tell if they are bad? Where can you get them and what is the real name for them. Thank you
