As a new owner, you need to be aware that the tranny in your car uses a special fluid that isn't likely to be found without knowing EXACTLY what you are doing. Don't just run out and get fluid from your local parts store!

Specifically, you will need Shell LA 2634 if you don't get it from BMW with a BMW number. You should also know that this transmission is "sealed for life" so there is no dipstick or convenient fill spout/cap.
