I did all the removal and installation of the valvebody myself. The fluid was $240 shipped. So I had $600 into mine. Works great now.

Being that its a sealed unit,if it just whines but drives fine, you might be okay. Granted its not supposed to whine. Mine would wine but be sluggish pulling out in Reverse and sometimes First gear. Took it to a shop after the dealer didn't want to do anything but replace it for $9K. Shop I took it to did a valve body rebuild with a kit from ZF for $1800 including labor.
