you select. It's good for low traction situations like snow...when you might prefer to start out in 2 gear to limit rear wheel spin...the tranny will start in 2 gear and remain there until you select another gear.

I know that E is the option to use when driving, but what does M do? ANd why do they have M when they have S3 mode rfor performance driving?
