Warning gong and lights??? (archive)

My 88 735il has no gong when the key is left in the the ignision. Also, I leave the trunk or door open and get no panel warning. "Trunk Open" or "Door Open"..
Any help in getting my Babe back to normal condition would be gladly appreciated.
