I had the same problem as the water pump housing can become warped, to allow water to run out when the car is hot, plus it splashes on the V-belt and leaves the stain on the inside of the hood cover. you might want to change the water pump at the same time!

The car was running great. I got home, and RIGHT before I was going to shut her down, I smelled coolant. I went ahead and shut off the key and popped the hood.

In the front, passenger side corner, it looked like someone had taken a spray bottle of collant and just lightly misted that corner of the engine well. Around the air box, the front of the right head, front side of engine.

I started her back up, no leaks that I could find, no more coolant spray. Weird. Its like the engine burped.

Anyone ever experience that? All hoses and connections looked good, no cracks or breaks that I could find.

Just weird.

Michael
